Spring Beauty Trends: Eyes

Pretty much every season the makeup emphasis is on either eyes or lips, i.e. strong eyes with softer lips or softer eyes with stronger lips (something useful I learned from Fashion Babylon, which is totally awesome, READ IT). This year the focus is on eyes, but it's not the typical smoky eye. Instead of focusing on strong eyeshadow, this year go for a stronger liner and a soft shadow (like at Erin Fetherston and Vera Wang), or a soft, blended metallic eye (like a Dolce & Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta). Also, stock up on metallic shadows, because you'll get a lot of mileage out of them for the next few months.

Erin Fetherston: I actually found out the exact products used (all Bobbi Brown), so here you go:
Liner: Violet Ink Gel Liner ($21),
Shadow: All Over Lid Color: Gold Shimmer Shadow ($20), Crease Color: Metallic Shadow in Velvet Plum and Glitz ($20), Lower Lid: Gold Metallic and Lavender Shadow ($20)

Vera Wang: I couldn't find the exact products used, but I think you could dupe the look with Lancome Artliner in Noir ($28), and
MAC eyeshadow in Filament or Electra ($14.50).

Oscar de la Renta: Again, I couldn't find the exact products, but I think you can get the look if you layer MAC Shadow in Honey Lust ($14.50) all over the lid, and then line the eyes with Stila's Barefoot Contessa ($18) shadow, contour the outer half of the lid with the Barefoot Contessa, and then blend Barefoot Contessa into the crease.

Dolce & Gabbana: Use the same two products mentioned above (Barefoot Contess and Honey Lust), put a light wash of Honey Lust over the lid, then very lightly line the eye with Barefoot Contessa, and blend Barefoot Contessa into the crease. PS: how cute are those hairpieces? potential DIY project!
