Review: Eyeliners

I currently switch between two eyeliners: Urban Decay Liquid Liner (in Oil Slick) which sells for $18 at sephora.com and Bloom Shadow Liner (in Olive Green) which sells for $17 at ulta.com. I wear the first one when I'm feeling a little bit more adventurous. It isn't black, but it's pretty dark. It's also really liquidy, so you can kind of use it like watercolors and get the base for a smokey eye. The only problems are that it dries really quickly, and unless you are planning on being a surgeon anytime soon, it is tricky to draw a straight line with it. But once you get the hand of it, it works pretty well. I would suggest the lighter colors though, because this one can be harsh against medium and lighter skin tones. The second one is currently my favorite eyeliner. Like ever. For those of us who are straight line challenged, a.k.a. you just can't draw a perfectly straight line no matter how hard you try, (which, by the way, REALLY sucks if you have OCD) this is your hero. The colors are more creative, but natural, and are soft so you can build up the intensity of the color. The product is specially designed and comes in a plastic barrel and you can turn it to get more or less of the crayon. The edge is also not rounded like most liners, but is rectangular, so it becomes incredibly difficult to not draw in a straight line. Halleluah! It's a miracle.
