An Afterglow Flush

I have a love-hate relationship with the Nars Multiple in Orgasm. When it's good, it's really good, and when it's bad, it's awful. Maybe that's where the name comes from...(I love all the Nars names. Every time someone asks me what blush I'm wearing, I can just say "Orgasm," and then laugh at their very confused facial expressions. Good times...). Here are the pics, the review's below:

I don't know what to categorize this as. It's not really a blush, but it's not really a highlighter. It's sort of a combination of the two. From now one, this is going to be called a blushlighter. That sounds awkward. Whatever. Orgasm is the famous, peachy-pink shade with gold shimmer. It's a very flattering color IF you are on the pale side and have absolutely no red in your skin. If the color works for you, you get a warm, subtle golden glow. If it doesn't work, you end up looking sunburned (hence my love-hate relationship. I have the occasional case of redface.), or absolutely the same, because it's a very sheer color that wouldn't show up on darker skin. The consistency is very similar to a cream shadow/blush, but a little thinner (very easy to apply), and it can feel a little grainy as the glitter is on the coarser side. The glitter is another issue. There is serious glitter fallout, and you either end up looking pretty and glowy, or like Rupaul attacked your face. Not cute. As for staying power, well, it's not great. I'd put it at 4-5 hours, so this isn't ideal if you want your makeup to last from 9 to 5 (or later).

On the plus side, it's really easy to apply and layer for more pigmentation, it can look really good, and it won't break you out. On the down side, it's pretty expensive ($37), it doesn't last very long, and it can look really bad. You do get a lot in the tube, though; I've had mine for about 18 months now, and I'm not even halfway through.

So, if you are paleish, have a reasonably red-free complexion, and can stand to carry this around in your purse for touchups, splurge on this. Otherwise, there are other, cheaper products that would work better for your lifestyle and complexion.

Available for $37 at sephora.com
