So the Spring/Summer season is right around the corner (or right now, if you live in SoCal), and while there were a bunch of amazing trends on the runways last September, I'm really feeling three of them in particular.
Mixing prints (in a huge, crazy, who cares way) is going to be huge for the next couple of months. It was pretty popular with multiple designers, but the Marc Jacobs show really solidified the non-chalant, whimsical layering. Personally, I think it's irreverent and fun, and will make spring dressing a little easier. Sheer tiers and layers will also be a big thing for Spring/Summer. There's been a lot of sheer on the runways the past two seasons, but I think it finally strikes the right note with the combination of sheerer fabrics and ruffled/tiered a-line dresses. It's the perfect mix of innocent and slightly sexy, and it just looks plain easy and comfortable. Finally, there's the oversized boyfriend blazer. The menswear blazer has been on the runways for the past few years, but when slightly big and with pushed up sleeves, it looks fresh. It's slouchy and sexy, and adds the perfect polish to your outfit.
I'll be looking for retail examples of all of these in the coming weeks, so stay posted!
