So I know Megan will probably go into more detail of this when she gets back later (a.k.a. eventually), but in the meantime I thought I would go over a few of the outfits seen at this years CFDA fashion awards. The fashion (for the most part) was a little more subdued than normal, but still great nonetheless.
The winners this year were:
Womenswear Designer of the Year: Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Rodarte (Yeah! Just had to give a shout out to our local girls. I've actually run into them at Target twice and once at Starbucks. Jealous? I thought so.)
Menswear Designer of the Year: It was a tie between Italo Zucchelli (Calvin Klein Collection) and Scott Sternberg (Band of Outsiders)
Accessories Designer of the Year: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (Proenza Schouler)
Swarovski Award for Womenswear: Alexander Wang
Swarovski Award for Menswear: Tim Hamilton
Swarovski Accessories Award: Justin Giunta (Subversive Jewelry)
International Award: Marc Jacobs
Eleanor Lambert Award: Jim Moore
Eugenia Sheppard Award: Edward Nardoza
Board of Directors' Special Tribute: Michelle Obama (This lady is fierce! She's not even in the fashion industry and she gets an award. That takes some major skills.)
Popular Vote Award: Ralph Lauren
Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Anna Sui
As for a sneak at the fashion roundups, behold: Blake Lively in Michael Kors, Kerry Washington in Doo.Ri, Kirtsen Dunst in Rodarte.
Anja Rubik in Kaufman Franco, Lonneke Engel in Marchesa, Doo-Ri Chung in her own design.
